Personally, I think Gabi should get the worst possible sentence possible for her crime. Yes, I'm well aware of what Nick did and I know that Nick did some pretty crappy stuff to other people but that does not justify Gabi murdering him in any way. If it was even okay for people to murder others just because of the crimes they committed, well we might as well legalize vigilantism and become a lawless society.
I think Gabi should have either gotten life in prison with the possibility of parole or the death penalty. There was a girl named Sarah Johnson who was half her age and she got two consecutive life sentences for murdering her parents because she refused to break up with her boyfriend.
This is a tv show though not real life. As much as I hate Gabi he did try to rape her and there are plenty of women who kill men that rape them.
And yet there are some people that have been complaining about how the Salem PD handled the investigation of Nick's murder and it's almost like they are expecting them to act like a real police department. You can't have it both ways. Okay, I'm going to step back and admit that a death sentence is way too harsh for someone in Gabi's situation. I'm just worried that Gabi is going to get off way too easy for what she did. I doubt it I think that what Julie wants and that long term possibilities are different matters I think that despite what Nick got * 4years* because of her favoring of Nick that Julie might want Gabi to get life. I stated earlier life in prison & death penalty are all the off the table I think and I think one of those two off the table sentences is what Julie wants Gabi to receive. I think that Julie is over sympathetic to Nick the victim and not sympatric enough to the fact that Nick was making people victims but Nick need to make other victims I think is only going to help Gabi marginally as is just stated that life in prison & death penalty are off the table if Gabi gets 20 to 30 years I wouldn't be surprised giving the amount of what Gabi confessed too.

I hate to get all political here but I'm glad she isn't getting the death penalty. As much as I don't like Gabi and I don't think she should have killed him despite how many people he blackmailed in a lot of cases I don't agree with the death penalty. I think 20-30 years is legitimate.

What I am trying to figure out is what possible motive with Nick history could Julie have for wanting a judge to sentence Gabi rather that Julie just leaving it alone and allowing the DA to plead Gabi out. Nick's sentence for his crimes 4 years was far to generous.... I don't see Gabi getting close to that meaning that was ever the plea deal is should be two short for Julie... after Nick go only 4 years for murder Julie doesn't have the right to judge a plea deal.

This week's SOD features a short article about Julie and Gabi.
Julie wants to ask the judge to make Gabi's sentence worse, but Hope tells her that's not what Nick would have wanted.
Julie talks to Gabi, but even though Gabi is very upset, Julie still doesn't understand why she did it. Hayes shares that "though much of it took place off camera, Julie felt a strong bond with Nick." Julie is so upset at Nick's death that she "takes a long journey away from Salem."
Pick up the latest Digest for more details! Oh oh, I don't like that at all!!! :soapbox:

Nick's family having a say on whether the judge accepts the plea deal or not is a major bullshit the writers pulled out of their asses. No such thing exists. Victim's family can make a "victim impact statement" but sentencing process is solely the domain of the judge. The judge could go with the deal or he/she could make Gabi's sentence less or more. In the eyes of the law, Gabi didn't commit a crime against Nick's family, she committed a crime against the people. She's facing the state of Illinois (if Salem is located in Illinois) not Julie Williams. I wish they don't make stupid shit up that doesn't add anything to the plot.
